JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Speech Therapist

We are searching for a flexible, resourceful speech therapist to join our team. The speech and Language pathologist will perform screenings, assess patient condition, and design therapy and treatment plans to help the patient develop necessary speech skills. You should be caring and knowledgeable about speech-related conditions and therapies. As a speech pathologist, you should be willing to alter treatment plans to better suit the individual needs of a diverse patient population. You should be caring, adaptable, analytical, and resourceful. As a speech therapist, you should be passionate about social and biological science, language, and human anatomy. Exceptional Speech Therapists are caring, adaptable, and able to use available resources to find solutions. Experience with certain conditions or working with specific age groups may be preferred.

The speech and language pathologist/Therapist's responsibilities include :- performing patient assessments, developing individual treatment plans, liaising with teachers/school, family members, and other healthcare professionals, administering therapy and monitoring progress, and ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy techniques. You should also be able to work with patients from different backgrounds and be willing to make house calls.

Speech Therapist Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with professionals from many other disciplines.
  • Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
  • Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, school, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
  • Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
  • Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
  • Educating /Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals on speech disorders and available therapies.
  • Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.
  • Comprehensive reports generated about the progress- Monthly/termly
  • Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required.
Speech Therapist Requirements:
  • Bachelors/Master's degree in speech therapy or speech-language pathology.
  • Relevant license and certification.
  • Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be required.
  • Ability to evaluate, assess using various standardized tools (PLS-5, CELF, REELS etc.).
  • Ability to plan intervention, and re-assessment to check progress.
  • Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.
  • Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments.
  • Excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases.
  • Attentive and caring with the ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Familiarity with database management software.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to conduct research and travel to conferences.

Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a licensed occupational therapist to join our growing team of Rehabilitation professionals. You will be working with children who have specific needs. Duties will include conducting a physical assessment, helping children that are prone to a range of disabilities that make them unable to carry out their daily chores. He/she works hand-in-hand with parents and other health care providers, with a job description that entails helping in developing cognitive skills in children. The paediatric occupational therapist tries as much as possible to make the child being taken care of more functional. This is done by helping him/her to develop skills in the area of self-care and schooling. In the process of helping children achieve their maximum potential, the therapist most times indirectly works on developing confidence, self-esteem, and social skills.

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the child’s family, usually in their homes, schools or any other environment.
  • Work with educational staff and health providers to ascertain the child’s areas of need and to also render help when it comes to tackling certain difficulties.
  • Help children who have issues with learning to improve their coordination, organization, and planning abilities.
  • Help teachers and parents to have a better understanding of their children’s capabilities.
  • Provide support and advice to the child’s parents and teachers about every angle of their care that has to do with the occupational therapy needs of the child
  • Adjust communication pattern to the age and level of understanding of the child. This may sometimes include no-verbal means of communication like sign language
  • Attend meetings when needed to provide specialist advice as regards the functional needs of the child
  • Report any defects or difficulties to the technical director
  • Vigilant at all times to ensure and maintain a safe environment for the child Plans further treatment and review the child’s general progress
  • Work closely with doctors, family members, and teachers of the child by keeping them updated on his/her progress
  • Assess the child for adaptations and use of specialist equipment when necessary
  • Work within the policy that has to do with child protection procedures and training requirements
  • Identify areas of improvement in the entire procedure and help in managing adaptive changes in ways through which services are rendered to the child.
Occupational Therapist Requirements:
  • Must possess good communication skills on all fronts. There might be need for extra communication skills like sign language and facial expressions (depending on the challenges being faced by the child in question)
  • Must have good interpersonal skills. That is to say that the pediatric occupational therapist must be a people person who is always at ease and friendly when relating with people, especially with the child being cared for
  • Must exhibit high levels of patience and tolerance when handling the child
  • Must possess good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be someone that pays keen attention to every little detail about the child. That is to say that the therapist must be aware of every relevant detail that has to do with the child’s environment and well-being in general
  • Must display flexibility (especially in the case of different children). This is due to the fact that, every child may not have the same difficulties, hence, might not respond to the same therapy procedure
  • At least a master’s degree in occupational therapy, with a specialization in paediatrics
  • A minimum of 3 years post qualification work experience in a similar role
  • Must possess the necessary certification and valid license(s) to operate as a therapist.

ABA Therapist

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Initial Interviews and Assessments of children
  • Set Short and Long-Term Treatment Goals
  • Conduct Therapy Sessions
  • Engage Patients and Family
  • Condition Negative Behaviours
  • Work in Different Locations and Environments
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements.
  • Follow the prescribed behavioural skill acquisition and behaviour reduction protocols.
  • Follow and record data for prescribed toilet training protocols.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behaviour.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client’s individualized treatment and behaviour reduction protocols.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress as instructed by the Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst.
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
  • Maintain client confidentiality.
  • Assist Lead Behavioural Technician, Behaviour Analysts, and ABA Interns with skill acquisition and behaviour reduction assessments.
  • Assist Lead Behavioural Technician, Behaviour Analysts, and ABA Interns in preparing client materials as instructed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
  • Assume Lead Behavioural Technician responsibilities in their absence.
  • Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents, and caregivers, outside professionals, Lead Behavioural Technician, ABA Interns, and co-workers.
  • Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required training.
  • Assist with Home Life
ABA Therapist Requirement:
  • Preferred Master's degree in Psychology/Education, with Certificate in ABA or related field of study
  • Preferred Registered Behaviour Technician certificate from the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board.
  • 0-5 years of experience required for entry-level positions
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Ability to work under high-stress situations
  • Exhibits significant reliable habits, including timeliness and organizational skills
  • Proven experience working with pre-school and elementary school-aged children
  • Additional evidence of successful work with patients suffering from Autism and development issues
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
  • Ability to adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board Commitment to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to, perform job responsibilities to required standard. Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols.

School Bus Driver

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • A School Bus Driver interacts daily with children and serves as their trusted transportation to and from school. As such, a School Bus Driver should be free of any traffic or criminal violations and should have an authoritative, yet calming demeanour and a strong understanding of traffic laws.
  • Transport children and other passengers to and from school safely
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Always maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus
  • Ensure the safety of all students
  • Verify permissions for children who ride home with friends
  • Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
  • Discipline children as needed to maintain a safe environment
  • Perform inspections of the bus before and after each route
  • Attend safety meetings as required
Bus Driver Requirements:
  • Commercial driver’s license
  • A chauffeur’s license may not be necessary, but may be helpful
  • One or more years of experience
  • Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years
  • Two or more years of experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to carry out assigned route on time

Receptionist

Receptionist is often the first point of contact for people who call or visit the Centre. Receptionists should be prepared to handle a wide range of inquiries and requests.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Greet Visitors, Parents, and Students
  • School Receptionists answer phone calls, greet visitors and provide information to parents and students.
  • Provide information on a variety of topics, including rules, disciplinary measures, and dayto- day operations of the school.
  • Share information broadly with administrators, teachers, and students’ families through emails, flyers or phone calls, ensuring that necessary information is properly transmitted.
  • Keep Records- Keeping a variety of records like phone calls and visits.
  • Maintain records of centre operations, such as registration and class schedules, bus scheduling and routes, academic transcripts and parent contact information.
  • Schedule Meetings - Receptionists are in charge of the activities and meetings calendars.
  • schedule events such as parent-teacher conferences, and staff calls.
  • Manage the principal’s daily calendar, organizing his or her meetings and helping them stay on schedule.
Required Skills:
  • Graduate In English Preferred
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in MS Office
  • Highly organized, in order to maintain orderly and complete records.
  • Able to follow directions but to also proactively address issues that may arise.
  • Knowledge and awareness of current customer service principles and practice.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask. Experience with cash handling and processing of payments.
  • Experience of working with children.
  • Ability to do basic mathematical computations.
  • Experience in a school or office setting.

Special Educator

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree from accredited university Teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments English as a Second Language Certification preferred Gifted and Talented Certification preferred Demonstrated competency in the subject area(s) assigned

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
