Our Activities

At Determined Stars Learning and Therapy Centre we believe every child is unique and so are their abilities. We provide support according to their level and capabilities. Tailored appropriately to their needs we provide different types of support.

DSC Day Program:

The Day Program is a specialised program developed by Determined Stars Learning and Therapy Centre. This includes Academics and Therapy sessions according to the child’s need. DSC day programs are conducted in small groups. The programmes focus on age-appropriate academic, Language acquisition and communication, social & functional skills. The curriculum is tailored to each child’s individual needs, whilst the aim is to make our students ready for mainstream learning programmes. Hence it adopts curriculum needs from international standards.

A typical Day Programme will consist of small groups of 5 – 6 students to ensure each child’s need is met. Individualised Education Plan will be curated to incorporate targets set from the multi- disciplinary professionals and work with the child to ensure all the areas of child’s need is met.

Each group consists of one teacher/Therapist and one assistant teacher (i.e. at ratio 1:2.5)

Day Programme types:

  1. BSP- Bridge to School Programme (ages 2.5-5 years)

  2. Young children who are just getting ready to enter mainstream school. This programme focuses on preparing and making the students ready to access the mainstream school. The programme focuses on developing students with, and the basic skills required in a mainstream classroom.

This programme also includes Speech and Language Therapies, Occupational Therapy and ABA therapies along with academics according to the child’s need.

  3. ASP-Alternative to School Programme (ages 5 and above)

  4. Children who are looking for an alternative curriculum, as mainstream school, could not meet their needs.

  5. SSP- School Support Programme:

  6. We extend our support of therapists to schools where the child is admitted.

Afternoon Programme types:

Children with learning or thinking differences may have challenges in certain basic prerequisite skills to read, write, reason, logical thinking, conceptual understanding etc. Difficulties in these pre-requisite skills may affect their ability to cope with more complex academic skills in schools. As early as you intervene, the sooner the success builds skills to cope up.

A traditional tutor may not understand your child’s learning or thinking differences to be able to employ the right teaching methods. An academic therapist can bridge this gap by employing the right methods and setting children up for academic success.

DYSLEXIA, DYSCACULIA, DYSGRAPHIA, DYSPRAXIA, AUDITORY PROCESSING DISORDER, VISUAL PROCESSING DISORDER, LEARNING DIFFICULTY, AUTISM are some of the many disorders which can affect learning. These need to be addressed with a specialized coaching technique.

  1. AEP- Academic Enhancement Programme

  2. Our specialized team/therapist follows a tailored approach as we believe “not one size fits for all”. The learning techniques and strategies that may be used with one child will not be the same for another. Depending on the child’s individual need, our specialists follow unique and innovative teaching methods, including multi-sensory methods to help with teaching the concepts in a way that our children can understand easily. We ensure that learning is used and applied in their daily life.

Our team focuses on developing skills in Literacy, Numeracy, communication and Language, and Life skills during the sessions. These sessions are mainly 1:1 and small group sessions depending on the child’s individual need.

  3. TEP – Therapy Enhanced Programme
